A Hampshire business has signed a two-year packing and case-making deal for cables and systems giant, Prysmian.
PSP, which provides worldwide freight forwarding, express courier services, packing and boat transportation services, will have members of staff based inside Prysmian, which has its UK bases in Eastleigh and Bishopstoke, as part of the £1 million deal.
Managing director, Frank Dixie, said there would be a constant flow of cases being manufactured at PSP’s Segensworth base before being delivered to Prysmian.
Dixie added PSP’s solid worldwide infrastructure was a key factor in the company securing the Prysmian contract: “It’s a great name for our portfolio and an example of how we are continuing to take on the big boys in our industry by signing deals with global players like Prysmian.”
Added Prysmian’s purchasing manager, Bob Dean: “In order to focus on our customers’ requirements we need a local supplier which can offer flexibility and first rate service. We believe that the agreement with PSP offers this and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
Prysmian has subsidiaries in 38 countries, 53 plants in 21 countries and employs more than 12,000 people around the world.
PSP is a flexible, privately owned company with a network of offices across the globe, including Hong Kong, Dubai, Germany, India, South Africa, USA, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and China.
