Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards Winners

19/11/2010

Reading-based GCS Recruitment Specialists was the big winner in last night’s Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards, now in its 16th year.

GCS won Thames Valley Business of the Year and Best Company to Work For on a special night for founder Chris Bartlett and his team.

Other winners included Ella’s Kitchen, Hansford Sensors, The Chemistry Group,  and Sophos plc.

Last night’s awards were sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, Pitmans, Deloitte, James Cowper, Vail Williams and UK Trade & Investment South East.

More than 300 people packed the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre to hear guest speaker Lord Paddy Ashdown and the results of the 2010 TVBMA.

Awards chairman David Murray said: "I can’t remember such an outstanding group of finalists as we have gathered this year. The shortlisted companies demonstrate that, despite a very tough year for the economy, there are success stories that transcend the downturn, that shine a light when it might look gloomy."
