The partners at Frettens have announced that two former associates, Michelle Hayter and David Walton, have both been promoted to partners in the firm with effect from January 1, 2010.
Hayter heads the litigation team at the firm and was recently recognised by the independent law directory the Legal 500, who singled her out as a leader in her field in the region. Hayter’s specialism covers all civil and commercial litigation areas and she has a particular interest in contentious probate matters.
Walton heads the New Milton office situated in the New Forest. He is one of the first legal executives to be made a partner under the changes brought about by the Legal Services Act 2007. Walton has worked for the firm for over 20 years and specialises in conveyancing.
Senior partner Ian Fretten commented: “We are very pleased to announce the addition of two new partners at the firm. Both Michelle and David will be valuable additions to the Partnership and have both earned their promotion to Partnership on the back of their own hard work and reputations in the local area for their legal expertise.”
