Thomas Eggar LLP, a leading southern law firm, has been appointed as legal adviser for Hampshire-based Micheldever Group.

Following a competitive tender process, Thomas Eggar will now handle most areas of Micheldever’s legal work.

Micheldever was founded in 1972 as a part-time venture providing car servicing and tyres to both consumers and businesses. The company is the largest independent wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres in the UK, and supplies 20% of the total market.

In 2009 Micheldever jumped 45 places to 109th position in the annual Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 league table of the best performing mid-market private companies.

The Thomas Eggar team involved in the tender included four partners: Leon Arnold, Ruth Boulton, Dan Bastide and Simon Fenton. Phil Gray, an associate, and Zizzy Jockleson, part of the firm’s marketing team, were also involved.
