Reading: Blandy & Blandy names joint managing partner
Thames Valley-based law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP has appointed Jonathan Gater as new joint managing partner (JMP), succeeding Nick Burrows who held the post for five years.
Gater has been with Blandy & Blandy since 1991. In his new role, He will work closely with fellow joint managing partner Philip D’Arcy, and the management team.
Burrows will remain as the head of Blandy & Blandy’s Charities, Education and Third Sector team and will focus on developing these areas for the firm. He is recognised by independent guide to the legal profession Chambers & Partners for his work in this area where clients describe him as “sensible, approachable and honest”.
Gater, a partner in the private client department, is recognised as a leader in his field by Chambers & Partners where he is commended for his “Court of Protection and elderly client work”. He advises on all aspects of estate and trust administration, lifetime estate planning and Court of Protection work. Gater also assists a number of his clients with the day-to-day management of their affairs.
Gater is a Professional Member of Solicitors for the Elderly, the Under Sheriff of Berkshire, a High Court Enforcement Officer and was this year appointed to the office of the Public Guardian’s Panel of Deputies.
Jonathan’s key areas of focus over the coming year will include IT investment strategy, finance and continued excellent client service.
