Liz Cheaney has joined Coffin Mew LLP, one of the leading south coast law firms, as human resources director.

Cheaney graduated in law from the University of Birmingham in 1989. Her early career was spent as a fee earner in the accountancy profession, working in corporate tax and insolvency.

She qualified as a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in 1998, having been awarded a distinction in her professional examinations. Her career in Human Resources has included roles as a Manager for a leading national law firm and as a Vice President (Europe) for a global investment bank.

Prior to joining Coffin Mew, Cheaney worked as an HR consultant advising a diverse range of businesses in the manufacturing and service sectors on the development of HR strategy, performance management, employee engagement, reward schemes, training and development and best fit HR policies and procedures.
