Motor dealership Thomas Day Motors, which traded from two sites in Albert Street, Fleet, has appointed Matthew Wild and Geoffrey Carton-Kelly of Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery LLP as Joint Administrators.
Thomas Day was founded in 1963 as a Rover dealership. It previously had sites based in Haslemere and Fleet and held Royal Warrants of Appointment to both the Queen and the Prince of Wales.
Following the demise of MG Rover in 2005, Thomas Day became a Renault and MG dealer selling both new and used cars as well as operating a service and parts business.
Commenting on the appointment, administrator Matthew Wild said: "The failure of Thomas Day has been very much linked to the difficult motor trade market conditions and the continuing downturn across the whole of the automotive industry. We are looking to find a buyer for the company’s sites and assets and have had several enquiries.”
