The South Coast team of national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has appointed Graham Holland as head of office. Holland is taking over from John Butt, who has headed up the offices in Fareham and Southampton since 2006.
Having set up Holland Mitchell on Southampton’s waterfront in 1991, the practice merged with Young & Butt in 2005. The enlarged firm was then acquired by LSH in December 2006. Holland has since held a Director position, bringing over 30 years post-qualification experience - 25 years of which has been spent in the Southampton market – to LSH’s South Coast operation.
Holland commented: “2010 will present a lot of positive challenges for the team, as property markets appear to be recovering from one of the sharpest downturns ever experienced. We are seeing improved confidence from property investors, developers and occupiers alike, and as a leading force in the regional property market we need to tap into the consequent opportunities.”
In addition to general practice commercial surveying, Holland heads up the office agency team and has extensive experience in motor trade transactions. He also works with a broad range of clients in South Hampshire in landlord and tenant matters, asset management, acquisitions and disposals.
Holland added: “The expertise within the wider LSH business will also play an important role. Our unrivalled spread of 28 offices across the UK and Ireland means that our clients benefit from market knowledge on national, regional and local levels. When working with major national clients operating on the South Coast, this insight and experience is invaluable.”
John Butt is now charged with bringing his 25-plus years of agency experience to a business development role for the South Coast team, as well as leveraging his extensive retail warehousing expertise on a national basis.
Acting principally for developers and as an acquisition surveyor for retailers, Butt has followed retail warehouse development from first generation conversion of motor showrooms/cinemas, through to acquisitions of first generation sites for redevelopment. In addition, he will continue his extensive dispute resolution work with arbitration and independent expert appointments, which he receives from the president of the RICS and others.
