A judging panel of high profile experts will assemble on February 24 in London, to crown Britain’s young digital entrepreneur. And, there is not long left to enter, with the closing date for entries being Monday February 8.
Entries are flowing in from the country’s young digital talent, who are all hoping to capture the first prize, worth over £50,000. DediPower, one of the UK’s leading managed hosting specialists, launched the awards last Autumn, in association with e-skills UK and The Sunday Telegraph.
The judging panel reflects the importance of the awards and consists of:
• Kamal Ahmed, Business Editor, The Sunday Telegraph
• Catherine Doran, Director of Corporate Development, Network Rail
• John Redwood, MP for Wokingham and former cabinet minister
• Karen Price, CEO, e-skills UK
• Craig Martin, CEO, DediPower Managed Hosting
The DediPower Digital Awards’ first prize is up to £25,000 cash investment, plus £2,000 in development funds and a further £25,000 worth of business mentoring and free Internet hosting. There is also a special Judges’ Digital Innovation Award to stimulate the development of more great digital ideas.
Craig Martin, CEO, DediPower says: “We are looking to find the young entrepreneur with Britain’s best new Internet based business idea and reward their innovative spirit. If you are young and have a great idea, it is hard to know how to exploit your talent, or how to get the right advice. I experienced just this situation when I was in my teens. So, DediPower wishes to provide stimulation, excellent advice and business mentoring to Britain’s young entrepreneurs.
“We are delighted to have the full backing of e-skills UK and the support of The Sunday Telegraph to help promote the Awards and to attract entrants from across Britain,” commented Martin.
The DediPower Digital Awards are for people aged between 17 and 30 years and close on 8th February 2010. The shortlist of great digital business ideas will be announced in early February 2010, with the winner announced in early March.
