Bracknell: Five new signings for The Lexicon, Bracknell
The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) has announced the names of four new, exciting brands coming to The Lexicon: Smiggle, Beaverbrooks, Foot Locker and Tang’s, as well as the relocation of Vodafone to a larger shop.
Simon Russian, development manager for Legal & General on behalf of the BRP, said: “The growing list of retailers choosing to open new stores at The Lexicon is testament to the attractive and vibrant new town centre that is currently being built.
“Despite some negative predictions in the run up to the EU referendum, interest from UK-based and internationally-based potential retailers has remained high. We look forward to making more exciting announcements as we move closer to opening.”
Counsellor Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said: "The announcement of more renowned retailers signing up to be a part of our new town centre is another big step forward for the development of The Lexicon. It is wonderful to see such a range of varied outlets confirmed to ensure there will be a diverse shopping experience for Bracknell Forest residents and visitors alike."
Australian creators of colourful stationery, Smiggle – where a smile meets a giggle – will be taking a 900 sq ft unit on Braccan Walk. Managing director John Cheston said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new store in Bracknell. There really is nothing like Smiggle anywhere else on the high street – and it will be great to see the public’s reaction when the doors open next year.”
Beaverbrooks, a family-run business since 1919, will open in a 1,700 sq ft unit on prime fashion location The Avenue. The jewellers sells a wide range of fine jewellery from its signature diamond, wedding and engagement rings to luxury brands.
Foot Locker, the leading global athletic footwear and apparel retailer will open a 3,600 sq ft store on Braccan Walk. The retailer constantly provides consumers with the best, and most exclusive product ranges.
In addition to the new retail lets, oriental restaurant Tang’s is taking a 8,350 sq ft unit in Bracknell’s newest restaurant quarter, Eagle Lane. The area will be home to an array of popular eateries, including wagamama, Carluccio’s, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Nando’s and Chimichanga, plus a new 12-screen Vue Cinema.
The Partnership has also announced that telecommunications giant Vodafone will relocate from its current shop in Princess Square to a unit double its size on Braccan Walk.
Russian added: “It is a great vote of confidence in the scheme that Vodafone has committed to a larger space within the town centre.
“The moves also allow for a reconfiguration of the offering in Princess Square. We hope to be able to announce more on this in the coming months.”
Already 66% pre-let (by floor area), The Lexicon Bracknell has attracted top fashion brands such as Fenwick, Topshop, Topman, Marks & Spencer, River Island, H&M and Primark.
