London: Pitmans takes on new pensions partner Go Back
12/05/2008

Pitmans, a leading commercial law firm in the Thames Valley and London, has announced the arrival of new pensions partner Ian Flowers in the London office.

Flowers joins the Firm from Nabarro, where as a partner he headed up the Sheffield Pensions team, splitting his time between the Sheffield and London offices.

Flowers was admitted as a solicitor in 1983, qualifying in the litigation department of Nabarro Nathanson. In 1984 he moved firms to specialise in corporate work and continued to do company and commercial work until leaving Freshfields in 1989 to specialise in Pensions law at Rowe & Maw (now Mayer Brown). He was made partner in 1995.

His experience includes the full range of general scheme advisory and documentation work for a number of substantial FTSE and other UK pension scheme clients. He was also responsible for the pensions sections of the PLC Asset Purchases and Share Purchases Practice Manuals for a number of years.

Christopher Avery, managing partner at Pitmans, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Ian Flowers to the strong Pensions team here at Pitmans. His prestigious background and first-class experience further adds to the strength we already have. It’s always pleasing to welcome a high calibre lawyer to Pitmans, and Ian’s background will make him an asset to both the team and the firm as a whole.”
