Guildford: Penningtons Manches boosts Surrey capability with four new partners
The Guildford office of regional heavyweight law firm Penningtons Manches LLP has recruited four new partners to expand both its business and private client service offerings.
Corporate partners Philip Walton and Julian Harvey, together with family law partner Veronica Gilmour, have joined from Mundays LLP, while clinical negligence specialist Richard Money-Kyrle has joined from Darbys Solicitors.
Walton is an M&A specialist with expertise in the healthcare, aviation and logistics, IT, retail, charity, digital and real estate joint venture sectors. He was head of healthcare and head of professional training at his previous firm and has a particular interest in pharmacy, corporate governance and boardroom training for clients.
Harvey’s practice covers all aspects of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, franchising and share options. He also specialises in property-related acquisitions of offshore companies and JV arrangements for residential property development. He has extensive international experience and has been involved with a number of cross-border transactions.
The firm has also appointed corporate associate Chinedu Uhiara who was shortlisted as a finalist for the Birmingham Law Society Trainee Solicitor of the Year Award 2013.
Gilmour has joined Pennington Manches to establish a Surrey family law practice in Guildford as part of the expansion of the firm’s family practice in the South East. She has 28 years’ experience in high-value, complex financial cases.
With 18 years’ experience of acting for clients across the full range of clinical negligence issues, Money-Kyrle specialises in complex catastrophic injuries.
