Heathrow: Arora gains consent for new unit prelet to Amadeus
Surinder Arora's The Arora Group, with headquarters in Washington DC, has gained consent from Hillingdon council for a four-storey 85,000 sq ft office block, to be known as Unit 4, at its World Business Centre estate in Heathrow. The building has been prelet to airport technology group Amadeus for its headquarters.
There are three similar office buildings on the western side of the site known as Units 1 to 3. Arora already owns a number of buildings in the Heathrow area, including two existing World Business Centre buildings under its management and the Compass Centre, which is Heathrow Airport’s HQ.
Surinder Arora, founder and chairman of the Arora Group, said: “With WBC4, we are building on our existing geographical advantage in the Heathrow area and are delighted that Arora’s Grove Developments business is involved at this early stage of the project’s delivery.
“It is still early days in this project, which is set to be the first standalone office building to be built in Heathrow since 2001, but we are much encouraged to have reached this key milestone for the Group.”
The announcement follows Arora Group’s announcements earlier this year of the development of two new hotels, directly connected to London Heathrow Terminal 4, the purchase of the franchise and the occupational lease of Hilton London Stansted, and the opening of the InterContinental London (The O2). With these developments, on top of managing 1million sq ft of office space, the Arora Group now has eight hotels with 3,200 bedrooms and 2,300,000 sq ft of hotel property in the UK.
