Oxford: Penningtons Manches sponsors network supporting women in technology
Law firm Penningtons Manches has become the founding sponsor of a new Oxford network called TechTonic which aims to address the lack of support for entrepreneurial women in the technology sector.
TechTonic is the brainchild of Penningtons Manches partner Nicola McConville, a corporate lawyer specialising in the technology sector.
She said: “I hope that TechTonic can provide a channel of communication and support for all women interested in making a living from tech. There is clearly a huge untapped potential in the women of Oxfordshire and, if it could be harnessed, directed and supported in the right way, the companies and technologies which emerge could have a global impact.”
TechTonic will be officially launched in October 2016 when its first initiative at Venturefest will be a consultative survey to gather information from potential members to ensure that the organisation meets their needs.”
Other sponsors and founder members of TechTonic include Venturefest Oxford, James Cowper Kreston, Oxford University Innovation, the Innovation Forum, and serial entrepreneurs Nicky Chambers, Riham Satti and Joy Foster.
