Oxfordshire: Tech company goes rural as expansion continues
Oxford commercial agents VSL & Partners and Carter Jonas have announced a letting at Park Farm Business Centre to Oxford Technical Solutions (OxTS), which designs and manufactures GNSS-aided navigation systems.
OxTS will expand from existing premises in Upper Heyford where it has been successfully developing world leading products combining Inertial Navigation and GPS/GNSS for more than 17 years. The highly accurate RT inertial and GNSS systems are used by most vehicle manufacturers across the world for testing and development of vehicles.
These navigation systems are used for a wide range of applications, not only for automotive testing and vehicle safety, but also for other applications where accurate position and orientation information is essential. This can range from scanning road profiles, assessing the condition of trees from the air, or navigating autonomous vehicles.
To facilitate ongoing expansion, OxTS has taken a 10-year lease on 5,872 sq ft of office accommodation at Park Farm Business Centre in Middleton Stoney. Park Farm is a high-quality office development of barn conversions set within a tranquil setting and close to the main road network.
Tom Barton, director at VSL & Partners who acted on behalf of the landlord, said: “Due to the current availability of high-speed broadband, rural offices are currently enjoying a renaissance. It is interesting to see technology companies like OxTS moving back to these rural locations.”
