Reading: Blandy & Blandy hosts mock employment tribunal
'Tackling under-performance’ was the theme for a mock employment tribunal held by Reading-based solicitors firm Blandy & Blandy LLP on March 18.
Seventy five guests, ranging from senior HR professionals to business owners and managing directors, gained a rare insight into how an employment tribunal operates at the three-hour event which took place in Reading Borough Council’s new chamber.
Partner and head of the employment team Sue Dowling said: “Our mock tribunal tackled a key issue for organisations and HR professionals. Poor and even mediocre performance can have a serious detrimental effect on a business and can be immensely difficult to resolve efficiently and effectively.
Our event provided an insight into how to best manage these situations, while highlighting the potential pitfalls to be avoided. It was fantastic to welcome and interact with a large audience, and thank you to everyone who attended.”
Feedback from attendees, all of whom rated the event from ‘good' to ‘excellent', included: “very enjoyable”, “extremely well presented”, “highly informative”, “incredibly professional” and “a very thorough demonstration”.
Blandy & Blandy’s employment team is highly recommended in The Legal 500 and Chambers UK directories. At the end of 2014 the team hosted a successful employment seminar at Reading’s IoD Hub in Davidson House, where highly topical issues including flexible working and shared parental leave, holiday pay and zero hour contracts were explored.
