Reading: Key experts to address charities seminar
Clare Pelham, chief executive of the Epilepsy Society, will discuss Influencing – The Proper Role of Charities at Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP’s charities seminar, taking place in Reading on March 30.
Hosted by Blandy & Blandy LLP’s leading charities team and chaired by partner and team head Nick Burrows, recognised nationally for his expertise, the seminar will also welcome partner Alastair Lyon from Crowe Clark Whitehill and founder and director Julian Lomas from Almond Tree Strategic Consulting, alongside Matthew Lock, head of corporate partnerships at the Samaritans.

Before joining the Epilepsy Society in 2016, Pelham was chief executive of Leonard Cheshire Disability for five years. Until 2010 she was the first chief executive of the Judicial Appointments Commission and held senior civil service positions at the Cabinet Office, Home Office and Department for Constitutional Affairs. Prior to that Pelham also worked in the private sector, with roles at IBM and as a member of the executive committee of Coca Cola GB and Ireland.
Before joining the Samaritans, Lock was CEO of the Vauxhall City Farm charity in London, having joined from a management role at Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
