Solent: Barclays appoints new regional head of Wealth and Investment Management
Barclays has appointed Craig Jamieson as regional head of the Wealth and Investment Management business in Bournemouth.
Of his nearly 20 years' industry experience, Jamieson has spent the past seven at Barclays in senior roles, most recently heading up the Wealth and Investment Management business in Glasgow.
He will now move to the Bournemouth office to oversee the division across Dorset, Solent and Hampshire, managing day-to-day client services and relationships with key business partners across the region.
Ben Gulliford, regional director of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in the south, said: “We are very excited to welcome Craig to the Bournemouth office, where his impressive experience and proven track record will help us to continue supporting the needs of our local clients and providing them with the best service.”
Jamieson added: “I’m delighted to be joining the team in Bournemouth. With the city and surrounding region fast becoming an important business and enterprise hub, I'm looking forward to giving local clients the full breadth of financial solutions from across the bank to help them to grow their own wealth.”
In addition to Jamieson’s appointment, Nick Wood is joining the office as a private banker. Wood joined Barclays in Portsmouth over 30 years ago and worked for the first 10 years of his career on the south coast. Following spells working in Jersey, the Isle of Man and London, he has returned to Bournemouth where he will bring his specialist knowledge of holistic wealth management to working with local clients and entrepreneurs.
The Wealth and Investment Management team is based in County House, 300 Poole Road, where it has co-located with the Barclays corporate team since May 2008, in order to give clients the full range of personal and corporate banking services.
Earlier this year, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management announced the opening of its second Hampshire office, at Tagus House, Ocean Way, Southampton, which saw local private bankers and wealth advisers join the corporate banking team to support local businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients in Hampshire.
