Southampton: SDL Bigwood boosts office and its southern expansion

Managing agent SDL Bigwood is continuing to expand its team in the South East, with the appointment of a new regional operations manager. Gareth Brown has more than 30 years’ experience in residential property management and will oversee an eight-strong team from SDL Bigwood’s Southampton office.

In his new role, Brown will lead and support the team, coordinating the day-to-day management of the office. He will be tasked with building on SDL Bigwood’s extensive portfolio of managed properties throughout the region, as well as ensuring clients and leaseholders receive market-leading customer service. 

Prior to his appointment, Brown spent 11 years at HML Group in a senior role. During his time there, he successfully launched the company’s first satellite office in Aldershot, increasing the number of residential blocks under HML’s management and growing his team from three to 12 members. He also assisted with the management of branches in Bristol and Eastbourne.

Commenting on his appointment, Brown said: “Property has been my passion for the past three decades and I join SDL Bigwood at an exciting time. With the government’s evident drive for housing, our sector is set to flourish. Not only is there huge potential in terms of new builds, but there are also great opportunities to increase our service offering with those residential developments that we already manage. Brown also has experience of both the commercial property and social housing sectors, and is a member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers.

Across the UK, SDL Bigwood manages around 30,000 individual homes in developments ranging from small individual blocks to large estates, comprising many hundreds of homes.
