Thames Valley: Business United launches new symposium for fast-growth businesses
Business United, the forum connecting fast-growth business leaders in medium-sized businesses (MSBs), is launching its flagship event, The Brittelstand Symposium at which business owners and directors will meet to share experiences and solutions with their peer group. Brexit, as the key threat and cause of uncertainty for many attendees, will be a focus for the day.
The opening address will be given by Lord Mark Price CVO, minister of state for trade and investment. This will be followed by Professor Graeme Leach, columnist for City AM and The Daily Telegraph, who will explore the global significance of Brexit; and then Matthew Syed, award-winning journalist and author will share ‘Black Box Thinking’, his approach to high performance in business and life. All these talks will have time for questions and answers.
Finally there will be a series of interactive break-out sessions led by experts immersed in the scale-up world. Topics will be: Finding and retaining the right team; Getting the most out of your data; Brexit and legal implications; Funding growth and expected investment readiness; The City and how it can help your business; Efficient planning for and management of growth.
Chris Dodson, Business United founder, said: “While there’s no doubt fast-growth SMEs are the backbone of our economy, this group is often overlooked from a business-support perspective. As a result, I’ve found my peers have become isolated and confused about where to go for worthwhile, experience-based advice. The Brittelstand Symposium has been created to help close this gap.”
The one-day, not-for-profit Symposium will take place at Wokefield Park, Berkshire, on 22nd September. It is supported by the CBI, IoD, Redwood Technologies, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, and the Torftech Group
