Thames Valley: LEP launches digital tech report

Thames Valley Berkshire LEP has launched its 2017 Digital Tech report, which aims to showcase the sub-region’s tech sector to overseas firms.

Berkshire is the UK’s leading digital tech cluster with 7,800 digital tech companies and 56,300 digital tech specialists.

David Parry-Jones, director and technology lead for Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, said: “We have some of the most innovative digital and creative companies in the world based here in Berkshire, from homegrown success stories to global firms choosing the sub-region as their European or UK base. This document provides a wealth of information about these companies and why they are here. With a huge talent pool with highly sought-after skills, a strong collaborative networking community, easy access to Heathrow and London, plus ever more innovation and co-working space, the attraction of Berkshire is clear to see.”

Thames Valley Berkshire LEP continues its support of the tech sector with its long-term investment in the Business Growth Hub -  a first stop shop for business support - a Funding Escalator providing loans and equity to SMEs with the potential to deliver growth, and enablement of an investment of £5 million European funding into the Thames Valley Science Park, which will support the evolution of next generation technology companies.

 

Furthermore, supported by the LEP, ConnectTVT has launched Digital Gum, a new digital skills programme to help apprentices and return-to-work parents fast-track their digital careers.
