Abingdon: R&D units are first spec development at business park
A new manufacturing development is under construction at Abingdon Business Park. Foxcombe will comprise four hi-tech industrial units covering a total of 49,317 sq ft and is being constructed to a high specification meeting the latest green credentials.
The development is targeting Oxfordshire’s thriving R&D sector, which are instrumental in establishing the A34’s 'knowledge corridor'.
The units will provide flexible accommodation to include high-quality offices with glazed entrances, LED lighting and air conditioning. The warehouse space will have sectional loading doors and an eight-metre clearance height.
Construction on the site, formerly an old office building, started in September and owners Rockspring Property Investment Managers LLP along with asset manager and development management partner XLB, expect it to be completed by May 2018.
Kim Sardar, European director at Rockspring, said: “While there has been significant refurbishment of existing buildings and re-landscaping of the park, this is our first speculative development project since taking over Abingdon Business Park in 2015.
“These new buildings are designed to attract growing high-tech companies needing high quality facilities, trained staff and easy access to major road networks.”
Units of 10,000 sq ft upwards will be available on a full repairing and insuring basis.
