Berkshire: EY hires new partner to support growth of Reading tax team
EY has appointed Sarah Lavan as a tax partner in the human capital practice in Reading, as the professional services firm continues to expand its tax team in the region.
Lavan has over 25 years’ experience providing tax advice to a broad range of companies and private-equity backed businesses and joins after 18 years with Deloitte where she worked as a partner both in London and Reading.
Lavan has worked in global mobility throughout her career, specialising in assisting companies with the complexities associated with the deployment of a global workforce. Her clients come from varied industry sectors and have ranged from large multinationals to start-ups. Her focus will be on strengthening the presence of EY in the middle market.
She said: “EY has a highly-talented team, with a fantastic work ethic. There is a clear focus on engaging with local businesses and adding value to them, while developing the EY tax business in the region. We’ve also got significant momentum following market-leading growth across the firm nationally in the last financial year. I look forward to playing an important role in continuing to build the tax practice in Reading by getting out into the market and working closely with new and existing clients, as well as growing our own team.”
Neil Hutt, senior partner at EY in Reading, added: “By continuing to invest in our people, business and brand, we’re targeting new tax opportunities across the region. Sarah’s tax experience advising a variety of clients, her ability to build strong relationships and proven leadership skills will be vital in helping us deliver on our growth ambitions.”
