Bournemouth: Sweet success for Bennington Green
Bennington Green, a leading property consultancy based in Dorset, has welcome another building surveyor to its increasing team of professionals. Sam Downing, currently a studying member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and due to become chartered later this year, has joined Bennington Green from a FTSE 100 company.
Downing’s previous experience was predominantly within the education and housing sectors where he was responsible for a mixture of building surveying duties including modular construction projects, feasibility reports and refurbishments. He is used to working to BREEAM’s strict requirements.
In addition to his demanding day job and studies, Downing and his fiancée have also started up their own fudge company to raise funds for their forthcoming wedding next year. With the success of Sam’s Fudge so far, it’s fair to say that the wedding looks like it will be a good one.
Downing said: “Fortunately my fiancée Lauren has taken over at the helm in our fudge business, leaving me time to study for my APC and to sail my Fireball dinghy at national level.
“One of my former colleagues joined the Bennington Green team and it wasn’t long before I was also keen to join him. With the wealth of work that Bennington Green has coming in, it’s already proving to be a very rewarding working environment.”
Managing director Nigel Soloman said: “Bennington Green has started the year on a fantastic footing and with the addition of Sam to the team we have a good core of building surveyors in the company."
He added: “However, we are winning so much quality work that we are also now looking for a quantity surveyor.”
