Bournemouth: Trouville Hotel acquired by growing ABQ Group
The hotels and leisure division of Goadsby Commercial has sold the Trouville Hotel in Bournemouth.
Occupying an exceptional site between the Winter Gardens and the Bournemouth International Centre, the Trouville Hotel is ABQ Group’s sixth Bournemouth hotel acquisition, adding to an existing portfolio which includes the Cumberland, Suncliff, Ocean Beach, Mayfair and Best Western Royale Hotel.
Comprising 82 letting rooms, extensive bar, conference and banqueting facilities in addition to a leisure club with heated indoor pool, the hotel occupies one of the most prominent freehold sites in the town centre. Planning consent to develop a block of 45 apartments over the hotel car park was also granted in 2014.
Divisional director of Goadsby, Ian Palmer commented: “With many of the larger more prominent hotels being tied to ground leases, it is rare to find freehold hotels of this size coming to the market and the value of this opportunity was not lost on the purchaser. I am certain the Trouville will prove to be a genuine asset to ABQ’s growing portfolio.”
