Bracknell: Sean Taylor appointed deputy lieutenant of Berkshire
Sean Taylor, the co-founder of award-winning Bracknell-based international technology business, Redwood Technologies Group, has been appointed a deputy lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire. He is one of seven new deputy lieutenants to have been unveiled this month in a gazetted announcement by the county’s lord lieutenant, Mr James Puxley.
The lord lieutenant is the Queen’s representative in Berkshire, receiving members of the Royal Family on official business, and also representing Her Majesty at ceremonial events. Deputy lieutenants assist the lord lieutenant with his duties throughout the year.
Taylor serves with numerous charitable and voluntary organisations, including as a Trustee of Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF), which has administered his company’s own charitable funds for many years. He established and leads the BCF’s Business Philanthropy Club, organising and encouraging community participation and funding from Berkshire’s corporate residents. Taylor also chairs the Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards, of which Redwood Technologies Group is the primary organiser and sponsor. Having represented Berkshire at national level in cross-country running as a teenager, he is now president of Bracknell Athletics Club.
Taylor commented: “I am most honoured by this appointment. Berkshire is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, and has proven an excellent location to form and grow a business. One of the most inspiring things about this area is its strong sense of underlying community spirit, and I have been fortunate enough to be able to benefit from and support this.”
