Coronavirus: Health and safety and return to work
As employers consider a return to work they must remember they have statutory duties to provide a safe place of work and also general legal duties of care towards anyone who may be accessing or using their place of business.
They need to review and adapt their work practices and procedures in light of government guidelines and advice issued by the Health & Safety Executive including undertaking a Covid-19 risk assessment as soon as possible.
All employers should consider publishing their risk assessment on their website and the government expects all employers with over 50 employees to do so.
Alan Davies, a partner at BDB Pitmans LLP in Reading advises businesses on health & safety regulatory compliance issues and defence of investigations and prosecutions.
In an upcoming webinar, Davies reviews the nature and extent of employer's obligations as they plan for and execute a safe Return to Work and how to comply with their health & safety duties.
The event is on June 16 between 2pm and 3pm. The webinar is in association with Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.
