Dorset: Good Oaks Home Care creates 40 local jobs in 2013 and 30 more planned for 2014
Poole-based care agency, Good Oaks Home Care, is celebrating the creation of 40 new jobs during 2013 and plans to recruit 30 further members of staff during 2014.
Registered with the Care Quality Commission in August 2012, the company began 2013 with just two members of staff, growing to 45 by the end of the year.
Led by directors Ben Ashton and Darius Mitkus, the company operates across the Bournemouth and Poole conurbation, providing 340 hours of care a week.
Ashton said: “In our launch year we have concentrated on building an exceptional team of carers. We have invested considerable time and care in finding compassionate individuals who share our values.
“As a result we have already built an exceptional reputation for care excellence and have built a solid business on the recommendations of satisfied clients.
“Dorset is a place where people come to enjoy their retirement. We aim to work with others to create a centre of excellence for care here.
“We provide a cost-effective alternative to residential care, enabling people to retain their independence in their own homes, by providing good quality and dignified care.
“Our aim is to allow people to keep doing the things they enjoy doing in the community they’re rooted in.”
The company’s offering has been shaped following research of local needs. In 2014 Good Oaks plans to invest in the development of innovative tablet computers that will further enhance engagement between carers and the company’s staff.
Good Oaks client Tony Wray said: “My wife and I have had care from Good Oaks for six months. They are friendly and reliable. At times I forget they’re not part of the family.”
