Dorset: Mildren Construction appoints operations manager
Mildren Construction has announced the appointment of Nick Gray as operations manager, to its head office at Hurn, near Bournemouth.
Gray graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Civil Engineering and is now a chartered civil engineer. He is an active member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and has held various roles on sub-committees. He is now chair of the ICE South East England Region. He is also a member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
Gray joins Mildren from a large national engineering company, where he gained 18 years’ experience.
With a desire to be part of the tangible, physical construction of civil engineering, he started working on site as a site engineer, progressing to site management and then taking on the management of larger projects, before moving to the commercial side of construction. Over a number of years Gray then progressed to senior commercial management of large contracts and frameworks.
Simon French, managing director of Mildren Construction said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nick to the team and with his years working for a national company brings with him a depth of experience.
“He has been extensively involved in the management of projects and the development of engineering solutions during his career and brings with him a unique understanding due to his engineering background. With his experience Nick is now an exceptional contracts manager and fully appreciates the intricacies of the ‘full picture’ of how civil engineering projects work.
“He’s worked on projects across the UK for both regional and national clients.”
Mildren has quickly become one of the South's leading construction and civil engineering firms by combining industry expertise, local knowledge and a willingness to think innovatively.
