Farnborough: MD completes MBO at Wilky
Neil Miller, managing director of Wilky Foundations Systems (WFSL), has completed the management buyout of the piling contractor from its parent group.
The business undertakes contracts throughout South East England and will continue trading as Wilky Foundations Systems from its existing premises at Stake Works, Farnborough.
Former owner The Wilky Group has sold the company to concentrate on its core activities in property development, investment, fund management and finance.
Miller has worked for Wilky since 1995. He became managing director of WFSL three years ago. Since then it has gained Investor in People status and membership of the leading trade body, ASUCPlus.
He said: “The group has supported our expansion by investing in the business, including plant and vehicles. This has enabled us to tackle a wider range of work, from mini piling at restricted or sensitive locations to larger open-site projects requiring piles up to 20m deep and 600mm in diameter. I should also like to recognise the workforce’s contribution towards establishing our strong reputation for quality and professionalism.”
Miller recently strengthened his management team with the appointment of Simon Tapsell as operations manager. Previously Tapsell held a similar position at Roger Bullivant Ltd, where he worked for four years and was responsible for mini piling and underpinning operations in the South East.
Wilky Group chief executive Malcolm Young said: “Neil has amply demonstrated his ability to take this business onto the next level and we are convinced that this sale represents the best way to secure the future of Wilky Foundations Systems and its employees.”
