Blue Frontier is a rapidly-growing digital agency based in Salisbury, Southampton and Bristol, offering a comprehensive end-to-end service to clients across the UK and overseas, comprising of web design, digital marketing and all aspects of technical IT and development.

As the winner in the High Growth Tech Business category at this year’s South Coast Tech Awards, the team at Blue Frontier is thrilled to be recognised for their unwavering dedication to growth, their ever-expanding service offering and reputation as a leading tech company in the South Coast region.

Founded in 2005 by James Fry and Luke Harrington, Blue Frontier has significantly evolved since its inception, from a business of two based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, to a growing team of more than 65 specialists working across numerous disciplines in three city centre office locations.

Working with clients from a variety of sectors and industries, including local government authorities, NGOs, e-commerce businesses and the NHS, Blue Frontier is a highly-adaptable agency able to tailor every service to the specific requirements of each client.

Blue Frontier attributes much of its growth to having built a reputation as a world leader in medical device connectivity and data transmission, having created a company culture in which the staff are all working towards the same goal of excellence, and evidencing their expertise with key accreditations including Cyber Essentials Plus, CREST (for Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment), ISO (9001, 27001 and 13485) and more.

Blue Frontier is involved in a long-term engagement with connected health partners, providing secure and effective health surveillance platforms to national health ministries around the world. Over the past year, Blue Frontier has helped secure the deployment and delivery of a premier open-source Health Data Integration System to numerous countries within Central Africa.

Since 2018, Blue Frontier’s service offering has more than doubled, introducing new solutions to help clients with a variety of requirements under one roof – with particular emphasis on building a quality and reliable cyber security service to help clients mitigate a host of security risks.

These new services include:

  • Data protection consultancy
  • Cyber security consultancy
  • Information governance consultancy
  • CREST accredited penetration testing
  • ISO systems consultancy
  • AWS architecture, consultancy and engineering
  • Azure architecture and engineering
  • DevOps consultancy and engineering.

Blue Frontier’s growth and success over the past two years is also reflected in a 38% increase in turnover despite the impact of lockdown, two new office spaces opening in prime city centre locations, and 96% client retention.

While 2020 has been a challenging year for businesses across the UK and worldwide due to the ongoing pandemic, Blue Frontier’s ability to function remotely has allowed them to continue their operations throughout lockdown and they even continued to hire valuable new team members. While navigating the current economic climate, they plan to continue expanding, developing and improving their services and look forward to discovering what the future holds.

“We set out to build a business with a broad foundation of services and working with a wide range of clients, by size, sector and geographic location,” said managing director Fry.

“Working across so many disciplines with small, medium and large organisations, in both public and private sectors, across the UK and overseas has helped us to maintain a strong performance, even during the current global pandemic.

“Our most valuable asset continues to be our extraordinary team. The commitment and adaptability they have shown, especially through the recent disruption, has been nothing short of miraculous. To lead such a team is a genuine privilege, and while there are still many challenges for us all to face, I am eager for us to continue thriving and expanding in to 2021 and beyond.”
