Casting out to Wokingham

Wokingham is an attractive market town in the Thames Valley with excellent road and rail links and its regeneration programme has attracted many high-tech firms including Nouveau Solutions.

Initially establishing the business in an office space in Woodley, near Reading, Nouveau’s founders set about providing a superior and proactive technology experience for their clients. Driven by delivering to clients’ needs, partnering with the best, and with a constant thirst for knowledge the business grew. Initially taking over one floor and then a second.

The founders recognised early on that technology could be confusing for those not in the ‘know’ and so adopted a client-centric and flexible approach to consistently deliver tangible client benefits.

Today, Nouveau provides expert advice, design and proactive managed services and solutions to a wide range of clients across both private and public sectors. The company’s technical expertise is broad and includes IT security, with a fully-managed Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service, as well as managed IT services and support. Nouveau continues to partner with the best and deliver Microsoft development and implementation services, extensive Fortinet security solution and proactive monitoring, support and professional services, along with a wide range of data centre and cloud services.

Relocating, but staying local was important

In 2015 it was clear that Nouveau was outgrowing its Woodley offices and so it was time to look around. With a strong client base in the area and employees living locally it didn’t want to move too far. Finding a location in the M4 Corridor would also work well for continued collaboration with strategic partners.

Casting out in the area Nouveau spotted Wokingham’s regeneration programme that involved the creation of state-of-the-art business parks. This local investment was leading to an increase of businesses moving into the area and was also likely to uncover more companies requiring Nouveau’s IT solutions. Although more and more companies are recognising the many benefits of outsourcing IT services to enable business-as-usual operations, they also like the advantage of having these services on the doorstep.

Nestled in the Thames Valley, Wokingham also had a strong potential of attracting an IT literate workforce with solid experience and expertise, which would support Nouveau’s plans for further growth. And, so after considering all of these factors Nouveau made the move into the ground floor of Alba House on the award-winning Mulberry Business Park in Wokingham.

Increased interaction and collaboration have led to accelerated growth

The office relocation has enabled the business to reset its company core values and Nouveau employees have a renewed sense of pride in the company.  A new more modern work space has allowed the business to operate on a single floor with designated areas for each department. The layout of the office has allowed better communication, interaction and collaboration across teams that in turn has led to accelerated growth. A purpose-built rest area and use of an outside space have also been a real bonus for everyone and helped to improve personal well-being and boost productivity.

Nouveau has also always set the bar high when it comes to service and partners with the best to deliver the finest possible client-centric solutions. This is reflected once again in the company’s recent achievements of ISO 27001, which is a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system. And, Nouveau similarly recently retained its Microsoft Gold and Fortinet Platinum partner competencies.

Ambitious plans for accelerating growth

Outstanding companies stand out and on March 29 the acquisition of Nouveau Solutions was finalised with VINCI Energies Group, two very different companies, but with the same quality of service and very ambitious plans.

Rochdi Ziyat, CEO, VINCI Energies UK & ROI, said: “Nouveau Solutions is a fantastic addition to the VINCI Energies group and marks another big milestone in our ambitious plan. VINCI Energies entered the UK’s ICT market in 2014 and this latest acquisition will bolster the strengths of our Axians brand and bring complementary capabilities to Axians networks, enabling us to make our customers’ ICT solutions ready for their secure digital future.”

Andy Stevens, managing director, Nouveau, commented: “We are really excited to be setting out on the next stage of our journey and thrilled to have become a part of the VINCI Energies group. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our efforts for further growth and at the same time retain our autonomy and culture so that we can continue to deliver a personal experience to our clients.”

Nouveau will continue to operate under the same name and with autonomy, but with the support and backing of a major organisation. From humble beginnings in Woodley to state-of-the-art facilities in Wokingham, Nouveau still focuses on what helped it to achieve so much. It continues to focus on its clients’ needs.
