Godalming: Roffe Swayne helps wine estate secure £2m investment
Paul Butler and the Roffe Swayne Corporate Finance team recently undertook financial and tax due diligence on behalf of a private investor in connection with a significant investment into Bolney Wine Estate. The investment will fund further growth and expansion into new markets.
The Sussex vineyard, whose award-winning wine is sold in Waitrose and Marks & Spencer, to name a few, and whose Pinot Gris is served at Wimbledon and to British Airways trans-Atlantic first-class passengers, is set to use the capital injection to fund the construction of a new state-of-the-art winery and launch its award winning wines into the US, Scandinavian and Asian markets.
Bolney Wine Estate, a family-owned business founded over 40 years ago, is forecast to double production by 2020 as a result of the investment. Sam Linter, managing director and master wine maker, said the investment was in response to market demands and confidence in both English wine in general and Bolney’s premium still and sparkling product.
Penningtons provided legal advice to the private investor. Bolney was advised by EMC Corporate Finance and ASB Law.
