Guildford: Penningtons Manches Cooper advises on cross-border transaction

The corporate team at law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised on the sale of ISO.health, a UK-based medical communications specialist to W2O, a provider of digital marketing communications to the healthcare sector based in San Francisco. The deal was led by Guildford-based partner and co-head of the corporate practice Simon Bickerdike, with support from associate Cecily Holt.

ISO.health develops and delivers effective multi-channel medical and scientific educational programs for pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences organisations. The transaction is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions W20 has made as it continues its global expansion in scientific and medical marketing communications. ISO. will operate as W2O iso within W2O’s global brand architecture. Its co-founders Suzanne Jacobs, Oli Burnham and Isabel Gibson will serve in leadership roles.

Suzanne Jacobs commented: “Since our company’s inception, our primary focus has centred on looking through the lens of healthcare professionals, patients and advocacy groups to develop holistic medical communications campaigns, rooted in science, that drive real value to our clients. W2O thrives on an analogous approach – giving brands a distinctive advantage by marketing science to deliver the most impactful stories.”

Bickerdike said: “We were delighted to work with Suzanne and her colleagues on this deal.  ISO. is a really strong business that offers the highest levels of expertise, dedication and professionalism. We wish the team well as they join the wider W2O group.”

“With healthcare brands having a predominantly international audience, the importance of leading with science is essential as it represents the backbone of a brand’s global narrative. ISO. is exceptionally capable at translating often highly complex data into insightful, effective language with relevant media and that reaches and resonates with multiple stakeholders across geographies,” said Jim Weiss, W2O founder and CEO. “This symbiotic partnership will enable us to provide more far-reaching support for our clients.”
