Hampshire: HWB appointed by homelessness charity Trinity Winchester
Leading independent accountant HWB has been appointed as auditor, VAT and accounting adviser to homelessness charity Trinity Winchester - further strengthening its position as leading advisers to charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Trinity is a Winchester-based charity which addresses the effects of homelessness and vulnerability through specialist practical and emotional support, and proactive prevention, empowering positive change.
The charity has organised a number of local fundraising events this year including The Big Sleep Out in May, a sky dive in the summer, a local cycle ride in September and a black-tie fundraising dinner in October.
Michaela Johns, director at HWB, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed as trusted advisor to this important local charity.
“Trinity do some incredibly important work in the Winchester area and we look forward to working with them towards achieving their goals.”
The Big Sleep Out is the biggest fundraising event for homelessness in Winchester and raises money for the charity’s work with homeless and other vulnerable people.
Sue McKenna, CEO at Trinity Winchester, said: “This event was not an experience of being homeless, but an interesting way to raise vital funds, whilst highlighting the cause.
“We cannot imagine the realities of sleeping rough every night. After our Big Sleep Out we all returned to the comfort of our homes the following morning, which is not an option for thousands of people.”
HWB's not-for-profit client’s range from new start-up charities to centuries-old, from clubs and membership organisations to social enterprises, from independent schools and academies to service delivery charities, from grant-givers and endowed foundations to theatres and cultural organisations.
