A multi-million-pound acquisition and a driven management team has helped coach firm Lucketts Group pick up two prestigious awards. The Hampshire-headquartered business picked up the Management Team of the Year and Deal of the Year (under £10m) awards at the Solent Deals Awards.
The accolades form the latest evidence that the firm’s ambitious growth plans are both taking effect and making waves within the industry.
Just last month the firm reported a turnover of £20.3 million and record-breaking pre tax profits of £1.5m. It comes just a year after the company announced an ambitious five-year growth plan, with intentions to spread its reach across the south.
Since then the firm has acquired two smaller coach companies; Solent Coaches in Ringwood and Mortons Travel near Basingstoke. The acquisition of the latter saw Lucketts pick up the coveted Deal of the Year (under £10m) award at the Solent Deals Awards.
Tony Lawman, managing director, said: “Our management team is highly driven and working closely together as a team to achieve our ambitious growth plans. I’m thrilled that has been recognised with the Management Team of the Year award.
“Likewise, I’m thrilled that our acquisition of Mortons Travel has been applauded by our peers and I would like to thank all of our staff and business advisors for making it such a seamless transition into our business.”
The Deal of the Year award was voted on by both awards judges and those attending on the night, who included top executives and managers from the finance and legal sectors.
Lucketts’ acquisition of Mortons Travel took place in April. All staff were retained in the deal, which saw Lucketts increase its vehicle fleet to around 175 vehicles.
