On June 26, leading Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP welcomed special guests to mark the opening of its new Henley on-Thames offices on Thameside.

Blandy & Blandy has relocated from Hart Street, its home since the 2016 acquisition of the business of Collins Dryland & Thorowgood LLP, to newly fitted-out offices adjacent to the river and opposite Leander Club.

Joining chairman Brenda Long and colleagues in cutting the ribbon were councillor Ken Arlett, mayor of Henley-on-Thames and Helen Barnett, the town’s manager.

Raising a glass of locally grown Stanlake Brut English sparkling wine, Long welcomed guests and colleagues to the firm’s new home in the town.

Councillor Arlett said: “As mayor of Henley-on-Thames, I welcome the further investment that Blandy & Blandy have put into its new offices at Thameside. It was my pleasure to meet up with a number of Blandy & Blandy’s staff at a social event last year, where I was informed about their proposed move to a new location. Henley Town Council was a supporter of the planning applications and personally I am pleased to say what an excellent job has been made of the refurbishment. With the array of specialist talent on offer at Blandy & Blandy, there is no need to travel outside of Henley for expert legal advice.

"I would like to take this opportunity to wish the firm many years of success in this iconic location on the side of the River Thames, in the beautiful town of Henley.”

Long, who has previously described Henley as a “natural home” and an “excellent fit” for Blandy & Blandy, explained: “We are thrilled to be moving into our new premises, which are in a much better location and far more suited to our needs, and indeed our clients’.  The move marks our long-term commitment to Henley and we are looking forward to further strengthening our links with the town.”

Helen Barnett, town and community manager, added: “We are delighted that Blandy & Blandy is moving to Thameside. It is taking a beautiful riverside office which will be ideal for Blandy & Blandy and we wish it every success in its new home.”

Twelve people will be based in the firm’s new offices full-time, while many others from its 100-strong team will routinely spend time there dependent on clients’ needs. This provides Blandy & Blandy with the largest footprint and pool of expertise of any firm of solicitors based in and around the town.

Further, Blandy & Blandy is the only firm of solicitors in Henley to be ranked as a top tier firm in both of the UK’s leading guides to law firms, The Legal 500 and Chambers UK.
