High Wycombe: TEEG launches digital-skills apprenticeships
The Entrepreneurial Education Group (TEEG) is going digital and launching a social-media apprenticeship in partnership with Aylesbury College, Oxford Cambridge and RSA Exam Board (OCR), Hootsuite and Tech City, UK’s digital business academy, in an attempt to address the digital-skills gap.
The apprenticeship programme will help businesses to employ an apprentice who will be trained by experts in social-media skills while in employment. TEEG trainers will also consult with employers to determine their individual marketing strategy in order to give the apprentice a blueprint from which to work.
Carly Ward, CEO and co-founder of TEEG, explained: “Working in partnership with industry giants Hootsuite and Tech City’s digital business academy, TEEG digital apprentices will be supported as they work towards work-based, nationally-recognised qualifications awarded by OCR, the UK’s leading exam board.”
Ward continued: “Training for apprentices 16-18 is fully funded, but they must also be paid at least the minimum wage, though most employers pay approximately £150 per week. Grants for employers are also available.”
The TEEG Social Media Apprenticeship is being launched at an event on Monday September 12 at the Inspire Centre in High Wycombe. Potential Apprentices and employers are welcome to attend and should contact TEEG Digital directly to reserve a space.
