CALA Homes (Chiltern) and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have now entered into the development agreement for 2,000 planned new homes on Maidenhead Golf Club.

CALA Homes was announced as the Royal Borough’s preferred partner to bring forward the development in July this year. Together, they have spent the past few months working on agreeing the terms of the partnership.

CALA Homes and the Royal Borough will now set to work in developing the plans for Maidenhead Golf Club, including designing a masterplan and preparing an outline planning application. They will consult with key authorities, stakeholder organisations and the local community along the way to help inform the plans.

When complete, the development will bring over 2,000 new homes to the town, 30% of which will be allocated as affordable properties. There will also be new facilities to service the community, including a new primary and secondary school, a community hub, large amounts of public open space, as well as supporting infrastructure.

Stuart Wallace, managing director of CALA Homes (Chiltern), said: “We are thrilled to have entered into the development agreement with the Royal Borough, which means the hard work of bringing the vision for Maidenhead Golf Club to life can now begin. Consulting with the local community will play an important part in helping to shape the plans, so that together we can develop a fantastic legacy in Maidenhead.”

Simon Dudley, leader of the council and lead member for Maidenhead regeneration and Maidenhead, said: “The signing of this agreement sets out how we will work with CALA to deliver this important development, with 30% of the housing on the site guaranteed to be affordable.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with CALA over the coming years and months as we progress these important and exciting plans for our residents.”
