Oxfordshire: Permission granted for industrial warehouse units in Witney
Blenheim Industrial Properties, part of the Blenheim Palace Estate and the owner of Windrush Industrial Park in Witney, Oxfordshire, is now able to respond to the demand for high-quality industrial warehousing in Witney following planning permission approval to build four new units totaling 28,992 sq ft.
Blenheim Industrial Properties bought the scheme in 2011, and has spent the subsequent period investing in the 28-acre site, which is home to 15 businesses including the multi-national packaging company Smurfit Kappa and furniture manufacturers Corndell Furniture. A further 38 firms occupy managed offices in the Witney Business & Innovation Centre which is at the entrance to the park.
Blenheim Industrial Properties has created a masterplan and gained planning permission to develop a prominent 1.3-acre site at the front of the estate. The new Gateway scheme will comprise four new high-specification units, designed to occupier requirements with flexibility in both size and finish, and deliverable within 12 months.
Carter Jonas and Benedicts have been instructed to market the Gateway scheme to potential occupiers.
Jim Yates, commercial property portfolio manager, Blenheim Palace, said: “Our plans for Gateway mark a new era for our continued investment in this excellent and well-located Park. The new units are designed for the latest occupier requirements, incorporating contemporary operating and environmental standards within an adaptable building.”
Jon Silversides, partner, commercial, Carter Jonas Oxford, said: “Blenheim Industrial Properties has made significant investment into Windrush Park. The Gateway is a very well considered scheme which is likely to attract those businesses in Witney which need to expand, and those that are looking for units to add to their national network, taking advantage of Witney’s central location and ease of access to Oxford, Cheltenham and beyond.”
