Poole: Blue Chip offers consultation as Microsoft ends support for Microsoft XP and Office 2003
Following the announcement by Microsoft of the withdrawal of support for Microsoft XP and Office 2003 in April next year, IT specialist Blue Chip – with its head office in Poole and offices in Southampton, Leeds and Bedford – is offering local businesses a complimentary ‘end-of-support consultation’ to help advise on what technology is best for their individual business requirements.
While the standard upgrade path to Windows 8 and Office 2013, per client, is the right solution for some organisations, there are other options available, says Blue Chip. Now might be the time for businesses to explore a desktop virtualisation strategy or they might consider central desktop deployment as the best way to deliver a new operating system.
Anthony Green, sales and marketing director at Blue Chip, said: “While April next year may seem a while away, customers are already acting following the announcement. Once support is withdrawn, businesses running Window XP and Office 2003 will no longer receive security updates from Microsoft, leaving them at risk. We are working with organisations to offer the right upgrade solution moving forward.”
