Reading: 70 guests welcomed at The Business Magazine drinks party
Seventy guests from businesses across the Thames Valley gathered at The Roost - the new corporate networking venue at the top of Reading's Thames Tower - for a drinks party hosted by The Business Magazine.
The event was organised to bring together winners, finalists and sponsors of the big awards events run by The Business Magazine in the region.
David Murray, founder of Elcot Media & Events, the publisher of The Business Magazine, thanked guests for the support they had given the awards nights, and the top listings such as Thames Valley 250, in the past year.
And he looked ahead to 2018 when a new awards event is being launched. The Thames Valley Tech Awards will take place on May 24 at the Madejski Stadium, Reading, and already it has created waves of interest among technology and telecoms companies.
"Bearing in mind the Thames Valley is the UK's Silicon Valley it's a surprise we haven't staged such an event before, but we aim to redress this with a fantastic campaign for this all-important sector in 2018 - which incidentally will be our 25th year of business, so lots to celebrate," said Murray.
He thanked Landid/Brockton for the use of The Roost for the drinks party, and 1711 by Ascot, the new joint venture between Ascot Racecourse and Sodexo, for the drinks and canapes. This was 1711's first event outside of Ascot - the company is looking to offer catering services to businesses across the Thames Valley.
