Reading: Blandy & Blandy advises on SMP sale to Terrapinn
Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP’s corporate team has advised Science Media Partners, an international events and publishing company based in Reading, on its acquisition by global events company Terrapinn, based in London.
SMP is focused on ‘next-generation government, citizen and consumer-based identity solutions’ and its leading events include SDW 2018 and connect:ID – as well as the highly-respected news and information web portals www.planetbiometrics.com and www.securitydocumentworld.com.
Partner and head of Blandy & Blandy’s corporate team David Few advised on the deal, supported by solicitor Stuart Rose.
SMP’s shareholders Mark and Andrea Lockie described the team as “brilliant to work with” and said: “We feel like we have been in a safe pair of hands, and we have been impressed with Blandy & Blandy.”
Terrapinn CEO Greg Hitchen said: “Science Media Partners fits really well with our enterprise technology portfolio and our style of event. There is also a strong cultural and entrepreneurial fit - and the events are world-class.”
Following the acquisition, Mark Lockie, founder and managing director of SMP, will continue to lead the SMP business.
