Reading: Cloud hosting scale-up appoints marketing director
Amito, the Reading-based cloud hosting services scale-up, has appointed Liz Hayward as marketing director. In this newly created role, she will take responsibility for leading its multi-channel marketing and brand strategy.
Hayward was previously head of marketing at Open Blend, the people software company and prior to that, managing director of B2B marketing and communication consultancy, Onefish Twofish. She will report into Amito co-founder and CEO Ed Butler, as the Reading-based business looks to build on growth of 15% this year.
Her appointment follows a period of significant growth and consolidation for Amito, which has grown to a team of 25 this year. Gordon Matthew, founder and CEO of Trend Services Management, has been appointed as chairman and the team appointed its first FD, Cath Jones.
Amito was re-branded in 2018 following the merger of the founder team’s previous businesses, iCloud Hosting and Everest Datacentres, and their subsequent acquisition of Crosspoint Colocation in 2016.
Butler commented: “As with all businesses coming through a rapid growth phase, we’ve been focused internally on the business, ensuring our customers and team are happy. We now have incredible foundations in place, and are extremely excited to have someone with Liz’s track record on the team. Her energy and experience will be critical to leading the brand through its next phase of growth.”
Amito works with customers such as Hype, BigStep and Redstor. The business is prioritising network development and colocation site expansion in 2020, adding 100G network across all its sites to maximise connectivity for customers.
Hayward is also founder of The Young Entrepreneurs Club, run in primary schools to introduce entrepreneurial thinking and startup ideas to kids.
