Reading: Gateley advises CACI on acquisition of software engineering specialist

The corporate team in the Reading office of Gateley Legal have advised CACI, the information systems and market solutions provider, on its acquisition of mission critical software engineering specialist Deep3.

CACI is a leading specialist in delivering integrated marketing, location planning, network services and technology solutions to a range of clients in different sectors.

Established in 2014 and spread across 3 UK offices, Deep3 works with its customers primarily in the national security space but also defence and law enforcement, to design and develop mission critical IT software, which helps overcome operational challenges.

Deep3 joins forces with CACI’s respected defence and national security team within their Information Intelligence Group. The company’s specialism in software and data engineering coupled with its collaborative, results-focussed ethos will enable CACI to become more proficient in serving its customers with leading-edge cyber-security and digital transformation solutions. The acquisition will help capitalise on changing market conditions and demand from organisations of national importance.

Corporate partner at Gateley Legal, Andrew Peddie led the deal and was supported by Laurel Knight, corporate solicitor.

Peddie commented: “We are pleased to complete yet another deal for CACI Limited. Our team has an excellent, long-standing relationship with CACI and I’ve worked with them on a number of deals over the years.

“This acquisition is an ideal fit for CACI’s strategy of diversifying into the cyber market. The two businesses embody the same values, both fuelled by innovation and talent, and we look forward to seeing them flourish in the years to come.”

Sanjeev Gandhi, M&A director at CACI who led the deal, commented: “Once again Gateley Legal exceeded all our team’s expectations in getting this transaction over the line in record time.

“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Andrew and his team over the years and we’ve worked with them on five deals since 2016. They have always supported us with sound, commercial and practical legal advice. They have a strong sense of achieving consensus and helping us getting deals transacted in an efficient manner. Gateley Legal never fail in their commitment, knowledge in our sector and resilience when advising us. We feel that this acquisition will be hugely beneficial for our clients in the national security and intelligence area and will set us apart from our competitors, and we’re grateful to the Gateley Legal team for their support.”
