Reading: Landmark Information Group makes senior appointments
Landmark Information Group, the Reading-based leading provider of information to the property market, has announced the appointment of Mark Johnston as chief financial officer (CFO), in addition to Gavin Ray as chief product officer who will lead the overall product strategy for the business.
Following the retirement of Landmark’s former CFO, David Callcott, Mark Johnston has joined the business bringing with him extensive experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, commercials, business partnering and transformation, as well as leading large operational finance teams.
With a background in technology, content and financial services, Johnston previously worked for Thomson Reuters. Having worked there for 19 years across various roles, he left Thomson Reuters in October 2018 as global head of finance of the trading business; a role he continued in at the newly formed financial technology company, Refinitiv, before joining Landmark.
Johnston also has five years’ experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he specialised in audit, acquisition due diligence and financial investigations as a manager in the Audit and Business Advisory Services team.
Gavin Ray brings a wealth of expertise into Landmark’s high-calibre product house. His experience includes technology management roles at large corporates, such as AT&T and Cisco, as well as in innovative tech start-ups, where he specialised in tech consulting, product management, marketing, go-to-market development and partnership management. Ray also served as a partner in a New York-based venture capital investment company.
Simon Brown, CEO of Landmark Information Group, said: “Mark is a seasoned strategic financial head and I look forward to working alongside him, and the other members of our management team, to deliver on the next stage of growth for Landmark and our portfolio of businesses. Mark brings with him a high calibre of experience, which will serve Landmark well and so I am delighted to welcome Mark to the business.”
He added: “Gavin is a true technologist, bringing a great deal of experience to the Group having worked alongside many of the biggest global technology vendors and operators, combined with several fast-paced start-ups. We are delighted to have Gavin on board and know he will deliver a product strategy and vision that will support our Group’s ambitious plans. All with the support of our technically astute product division and in unison with our sales teams and development functions.”
