Solent: Portsmouth Business School to host HR event: 'Tips for better business'
Different ways of managing complex human resource issues is the focus of an open evening to be held at Portsmouth Business School on June 30.
The evening’s guest speaker is Jayne Carrington, managing director of Right Management Workplace Wellness, experts in employee engagement and organisational effectiveness.
Carrington will discuss how to build a resilient workforce; how employee wellbeing underpins productivity; and the new challenges facing employers, including an ageing workforce.
The over-50s make up about a third of the UK population and will increasingly outnumber younger people in the workplace, according to government predictions.
For those interested in the part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA), there is a taster session from 5pm including a presentation by Professor James McCalman entitled: 'An introduction to strategic leadership – the idea of tame and wicked problems'.
The postgraduate, MBA and part-time study open evening takes place in the University’s Portland building, Portland Street, Portsmouth PO1 3AH and runs from 5-7pm.
