Leading Southern law firm Coffin Mew has advised Urban.co.uk and its shareholders in its three-way merger with Emoov and Tepilo. The £100 million merger positions the business as the second largest digital estate agent in the UK.
The inclusion of Urban.co.uk, one of the UK’s largest and longest established online lettings agencies, sees Emoov launch a major assault on the world of lettings.
Dominic Travers, corporate partner at Coffin Mew, represented Urban and its shareholders.
Travers commented: “It is satisfying to conclude the transaction which will enable Urban and its shareholders to join a group with greater resources. This merger points the entire group towards a genuinely exciting future.
“As Coffin Mew confidently expands across the South, it is only natural that our clients enjoy valuable and successful expansion also.”
Co-founder of Urban.co.uk, Adam Male, is set to become director of lettings in the enlarged group. He commented: “Being part of a much larger group of property specialists, with significant resources to deploy for growth, is truly exciting. I’m proud to be joining the senior team at Emoov to advance our progress as the go-to player in better value home sales and rentals.”
