South: KPMG promotes 126 in region as it focuses on growth
Professional services firm KPMG has made 126 promotions in its south region, a 25% increase on last year, as the company responds to increased demand within the area. Appointments have been made across the board in audit, tax, deal advisory and consulting.
The Thames Valley office saw the addition of two new partners as Jamie Thompson who leads the technology risk consulting team for the South, was promoted as well as Bhupinder Purewal in the tax, pensions and legal team.
The office also gained two newly promoted directors with Gareth Knight in audit and Ali Wisbey in deal advisory, and in total, 44 people jumped up the ladder in KPMG’s Thames Valley office.
Regional chair for KPMG in the South, Karen Witton said: “We have had an extremely busy year as businesses continue to thrive in the region, as well as face a great deal of political and economic uncertainty. KPMG in the South will only continue to grow over the coming years, so it is fantastic to have on-board a number of individuals who have developed with the company and its values.”
The firm’s office senior partner for the Thames Valley, Andrew Morgan, added: “We are lucky to have so many talented employees in the Reading base. Both Jamie and Bhupinder being promoted to partner reflects our confidence in both their expertise as well as the demand for such skills in the technology consulting and tax advisory sectors.”
KPMG’s Thames Valley office is currently located in Theale but is moving to a brand new building, 2 Forbury Place, in the centre of Reading next autumn. The move is being done in part to allow the firm to continue to grow; it plans to recruit over 200 new employees in the next five years.
The firm’s South regional offices are in the Thames Valley (Reading), South Coast (Chandler's Ford), Bristol, Cardiff, and Plymouth.
