Taylor Made Computer Solutions has appointed a specialist new business development manager as it continues to develop its specialism in IT for the legal sector.

Rob Hillsdon joins the Fareham-based firm following seven years with a global IT company, providing corporate governance solutions at board level to FTSE 350, the public sector and charities. Prior to that Hillsdon had lengthy stints totalling over 20 years at leading legal software vendors

He is well known in the legal IT community and has been brought on board to take Taylor Made’s specialism in this area to the next level.

The company has carved an enviable reputation as a specialist in IT for the legal sector since its inception.

Law firms are facing new challenges that put their data – and business – at risk. Firms deal with many large volume financial transactions in various aspects of work and data, including bank account details and other sensitive information, that can be a hot target for cyber criminals.

Hillsdon said: “Having worked with Taylor Made in the past on joint client projects, it is very exciting to be joining a company with the knowledge, experience and talent to help advise and implement the secure infrastructure needed to face the new challenges that the sector is facing.”

Taylor Made counts many of the South’s big law firms among its client base, including Trethowans, Paris Smith and Coffin Mew.

Managing director Nigel Taylor said: “Law firms make up a significant proportion of our client base and we’re looking to increase that even further with the appointment of Rob, which is why we are so excited to have him on board and increase this. He’ll be working to show more law firms how their data and IT systems could be in the safest of hands with us.”

He added: “The years of experience that Rob has will really benefit Taylor Made and will strengthen Taylor Made’s reputation as one of the south’s prominent technology providers.”
